Help Advance Research on Sjogren’s Disease

Learn more about the BLOOM clinical study of an investigational medication for adults with Sjogren’s Disease

Sjogren’s Disease (SjD), is an autoimmune disease that primarily affects the production of saliva and tears. People with Sjogren’s experience excessive dryness in their eyes and mouth, as well as extreme fatigue and joint paint, symptoms that have a significant impact on their daily life. Sjogren’s Disease can also cause dysfunction of organs such as the kidneys, gastrointestinal system, and central nervous system. Diagnosing Sjogren’s often takes time, and there is a lack of available treatment options specifically developed for use in the treatment of Sjogren’s.
If you suffer from Sjogren’s, you may be experiencing some of these symptoms. You might also know that there are currently no therapies approved specifically to treat Sjogren’s Disease.

This website gives information about the BLOOM clinical study, in which doctors and researchers want to learn more about the safety and effectiveness of an investigational treatment for adults with Sjogren’s Disease. BLOOM is specifically for people with ‘primary’ Sjogren’s Disease, meaning that their disease developed on its own and is not the consequence of another disease.

About Clinical Studies

Participating in a clinical study, also called clinical research study, is different from receiving standard medical care, which is intended to treat a condition or disease. The purpose of a clinical study is to collect information about an investigational treatment.

If you participate in a clinical study, you will be evaluated by study doctors and nurses on a regular basis during your participation.

Using the information collected in clinical studies, study doctors and regulatory health agencies can determine if an investigational treatment could one day be made available to the public.

By participating in the BLOOM study, you could help advance research for Sjogren’s Disease.
